Description:
The red, white,
and blue quilt was made by my husbands mother, Marylou Wyatt. It was
handed down to a grandson and his family (Glenn Wyatt) who live(d) in San
Bernardino County, Calif. . The quilts were put in storage . The storage
business sold all contents in storage to a private person(s) to regain
loss of payment on the unit. This took place about 2002. Included were
the two smaller quilts/wall hanging that I had made for my granddaughter
and her mother. Maybe someone has seen these at a yard sale or auction ?
If anyone has any information leading to the finding of these, please contact Nina with the info below. There are labels on the back of all 3 items with my name on them.

Description: Seven of my quilts were stolen in Nashville on July 29th. These quilts were stolen from a van parked at the Extended Stay America Nashville airport hotel. This was a random break-in by someone looking for goods to sell, not someone looking for quilts. They were probably dumped or sold at a flea market. The quilts are all designed and hand appliquéd by me. All quilts are described and pictured on my web site at www.maryappliques.com, click on Stolen Quilts. I have little hope of recovering them, but on the off chance that someone might try selling them to a shop or on EBay. |

Description:
Quilt designer Betty Alofs has had a small wall hanging disappear. The quilt, which depicts the Hotel Del Coronado, was on display at Bazaar Del Mundo in Old Town, San Diego. It was last seen in July 2002. This is the same pattern that is used as the central medallion to the commercial pattern which she designed, "Celebrate San Diego." It is 24" by 24". The main colors are reds for the roof, blue sky, flowers and palm trees. It is machine pieced, machine appliquéd and machine quilted. She used metallic threads and beading to embellish her quilt. |
