Karen Alexander, Quilt Historian, will present a trunk show and lecture about quilts of the 1930’s. Come and see the quilts that brightened the lives of their makers during the years of the Great Depression. Please bring your own 1930’s quilts to share. $10 (members $5), includes admission to all exhibits. La Conner Quily & Textile Museum Textile Enrichment Series: “Stories in Stitches: Narrative Textiles From Around the World” with Susan Olds on Saturday, June 12; 1pm. Susan Olds, art historian, curator, & quilt-maker, will give a presentation about quilts that feature strong Storytelling elements, including historical and contemporary examples, with a focus on contemporary textiles. Beginning with an overview of historic textiles, the lecture will include examples of narrative weavings, hooked rugs, tapestries and quilts which recount historical events, personal narratives, family histories, legends, fairytales and myths. $10 (members $5), includes admission to all exhibits.
